In May of 2019, CESS-Oxford partnered with CESS-Santiago to offer its inaugural course on strategic leadership to an aspiring group of Chilean Policemen. The course brought researchers who specialize in communication, negotiation, and management together to provide insights on how attendees could be more effective leaders within their organization. Throughout the week, speakers from across Europe presented insights from their own research and how it relates to being a more effective leader. Nuffield’s Ezequiel González and Raymond Duch discussed the results of their work on ethics and corruption and its implications for police work. Custodia Cabanas came from IE Business School to present her work on strategic communication and its application to effective leadership. The week long course was a huge success with participants gaining insight from researchers while researchers simultaneously learned from anecdotal evidence from the field.
